Buyer demand was especially strong for reputation yearlings and large, uniform load lots, with several strings of 850–900 pound steers bringing $358.00 to $361.50/cwt. Demand remained solid on lighter cattle, with 653-pound steers selling for $425.00/cwt and 567-pound calves bringing $450.00/cwt. Heifers weighing 616 pounds sold for $417.00/cwt, while 800-pound heifers brought $338.00/cwt. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady to lower at $125.00 to $187.00/cwt, weigh-up bulls sold from $220.00 to $228.00/cwt, and bred cows sold from $2,450 to $4,900 per head, with the top pair bringing $5,400.
