We sold 263 head during our July 7 Tuesday sale. Despite seasonally light receipts, buyer demand remained very active for quality feeder cattle, particularly on reputation calves and larger, uniform load lots. The sale was highlighted by 61 mixed steers averaging 958 pounds that sold for $342.75/cwt, while the highest feeder steer price of the day was $607.50/cwt for a 365-pound steer. Strong demand was also seen on 803-pound steers selling at $375.00/cwt and 650-pound steers bringing $421.00/cwt. Heifer demand remained solid, with six black heifers averaging 616 pounds selling for $415.00/cwt. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady to $5 higher, while bred females and pairs continued to command excellent prices. We sold a package of 5 fall bred cows for $5400/hd.
