Steer demand was highlighted by 64 black steers averaging 615 pounds at $391.00/cwt, 67 whiteface steers averaging 749 pounds at $339.00, and 16 black and black-baldy steers averaging 777 pounds at $331.75. Among the heavier yearlings, 54 black and black-baldy steers averaging 863 pounds brought $328.00, 95 whiteface steers averaging 880 pounds sold for $318.25, and 102 black and black-baldy steers averaging 974 pounds brought $306.25. Heifer demand was also strong, led by 26 black heifers averaging 720 pounds at $321.50, 25 black and whiteface heifers averaging 784 pounds at $313.00, and 61 black and black-baldy heifers averaging 824 pounds at $308.50.
